◆ 8、 High Speed Ship Attitude Control

The requirements for high speed vessels have been rising. Hydrofoil vessels have been developed to float the vessel body over water surface so the resistance of water is reduced. But hydrofoil vessels require very accurate and delicate control of the hydrofoils to stabilize the vessel attitude. Usually the hydrofoil control is done by hydraulic units.
The hydrofoil control by DDVC units has many advantages over the one by the conventional hydraulic units. First DDVC units consume little energy. DDVC system consumes electricity only by one-tenth or twenties of the conventional fluid oil system.
Secondly, each unit on a ship can be controlled both individually and synchronously depending upon the requirements for stabilization. Thirdly, all units can be controlled by electric signals through cables. No fluid pipe or large oil tank are required. This means the space for the units can be minimized.
